Spend More Time Taking Pictures

I’m really mad at myself for not taking more pictures close up. Everything was rushed with the sun going down, heat in the high 90’s, and not wanting to take up too much of someone else’s time. It’s hard on my eyes to draw details from a small picture. Next time l will take more pictures up close.
When you draw, keep scrap paper around your artwork. Tape some paper on the side of your drawing hand (hands have oil). Start drawing light and then build up your values.
Will post drawing again at a later stage.

New Beginnings

I have spend many years drawing. It's my passion, motivation, and part of who I am. There is a saying that we have choices. I believe that Art choose me.  There is a reason for my artistic talents/skills. I like to think it is to share and make people feel good at what they see. Hope you enjoy my postings! Thanks!

Thank you for spending time with me. I’m new at this and will get better with time and practice.
I’m a 54 year old woman pencil artist. I have two college degrees, one in Graphic Design and one in Art Education. I have worked in window display, advertising, and teaching for years.
I spend the first half of my life encouraging family, students, etc. , to do things that will help them grow. Neglecting myself and my art for others. When I turned 50 I started looking back and wondering “When is it going to be my turn?” My focus is going to be on my art, life, and how to get the most out of what time I have left.
This site will be about my art, life, experiences, advice, and a little bit of everything, because everything is connected.
My most recent drawing called "Warming Up for Practice". Most important key to being successful in art or anything is Discipline. Discipline to practice everyday.
This is a friend of mine that you will see more often in my drawings.  She is a professional belly dancer among her other career. She’s very graceful when she dances and has a very positive personality.
